Up North was looking to take over an old Blockbuster site in a dying strip mall. As a new, family friendly restaurant, they wanted to move far away from this look to attract customers to an area of Naperville that was pretty much forgotten.
On the inside, I created a design that was sleek, fun, and energized. On the outside, we painted the brick black and added copper elements to help separate the building from its Blockbuster past. The icon I created is an ambigram that has a nod to a beer bottle cap, bringing surprise and delight to the viewer.
